Providing Guests With The Safest Possible Environment

COVID-19 has impacted all our lives and whilst many restrictions have been lifted, the virus still poses a risk, particularly for the most vulnerable.

You can still enjoy a holiday at Lark Cottage - without compromising on the same high standards of hygiene that you have adopted at home.

Our No.1 priority is the safety and comfort of our guests and we have made some changes to our protocols to ensure that you have complete peace of mind from the moment you arrive to the time you depart.

As a Member of the Association of Scotlands Self-Caterers, we have access to the very latest industry regulations and guidance and we aim to go above and beyond in all areas in our compliance measures.  These include:

  • Creating a minimum of one week gaps in our booking calendar between guest visits.
  • Using a contact free arrival process - whilst still being able to talk through any questions you may have
  • Providing guests with access to high quality hand sanitiser and cleaning products
  • Ensuring all contact points have been thoroughly cleaned with professional grade disinfectant
  • Cleaning the property fully between guest visits to a level exceeding industry latest guidelines

We ask guests to also play a part in keeping themselves and others safe by:

  • Undertaking a COVID-19 test before embarking on their journey to Lark Cottage
  • Not coming to the property if guest have received a positive test result or are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19
  • Providing us with full name and contact details for all arriving guests
  • Not allowing anybody who is not a named guest into the property
  • Observing all Scottish Government guidelines whilst staying at Lark Cottage
  • Keeping the property clean during their stay using the cleaning materials provided
  • Thoroughly washing crockery, cutlery and cookware using hot soapy water or the dishwasher
  • Ensuring all bagged non-recyclable waste and cleaned recyclable items are placed in the appropriate outdoor bins
  • Stripping bed linen of at the end of their stay and leaving it in the laundry bags provided

If any guest develops symptoms of COVID-19 whilst staying at Lark Cottage, they should immediately arrange a test at the nearest centre by visiting or calling 0800 028 2816.  They should only leave the property to undertake the test.

All other guests should self isolate at the property until the test result is known.

If any guest has a confirmed positive test result whilst staying at Lark Cottage, they should endeavour to return home to complete their isolation period.  If this is not possible, the guest should discuss this with the NHS Test and Protect team.  The guest may be directed to the National Assistance Helpline on 0800 111 4000.

If any guest falls ill and requires medical attention, they should call NHS 24 on 111.  This 24 hour support line can be reached via a mobile phone without the need to dial any additional numbers.
